PROPER SKIING WITH OUR SKI TECHNIQUE TIPS

Bending and folding means that the edges of the skis are used when cornering. In doing so, it is important to make use of the main body of the body. Above all, the uplifting movement makes it easier for skiers to get around the bend. In addition, it is necessary to perform a decent rotary movement not only with the legs, but also with the entire body. In the following tips on the right skiing we tried to solve these basic principles of skiing. In addition, you should take a look at the FIS-Pistenregeln and make your skiing equipment starklar.

1. EXERCISE THE UP AND DOWN EDGES

First, tilt your feet in the desired direction of the curve, then follow the knees (also tilt in the curve direction), and finally move the thighs as well as the pelvis in the desired direction of the curve. Practice the three steps individually, and then connect them using a click-click clack noise. Just the tilting of the ankles makes the difference in skiing.

2. HOW TO DRIVE A BANANA

In order to improve the balance during the ascent and downhill, you will ride like a banana on the first runs of the ski season. For this, you move your bottom to the slope and form an arch with the entire body. In the illustration above, you can see the banana shape. Through the banana, you can curl up sharply without having to go sideways into the valley.

3. USE UPPER BODY AS ABUTMENT

The upper body remains always oriented downwards during the cornering, so it does not orient itself in the curve direction like ski, feet, legs and hip, but forms an abutment. For the exercise, you can choose a point in the valley and fix it during the cornering – preferably a few ski bays on the hut terrace. They’ll make eyes!

4. FOCUS ON THE MAIN FOCUS

In order to be able to ski properly, it is helpful if you make use of your main body (KSP). This is with us all in the area of the navel. When skiing, your KSP is moved up, down, left or right. The shift to the top is the most important to enjoy skiing at the start of the season.

5. PERFORM ACTIVE UPHILL MOVEMENT

Before you start the new curve, try to make an active uphill movement by stretching your ankles, knees, and hips one after the other. Your skis will thank you and turn you effortlessly into the new curve direction. A common mistake is to stiff knees – make yourself loose as with après-ski and let your knees dance.Immediately after the upward motion, the feet and legs are turned. Make sure that the hands remain in the front. (C) DS

Even the turning movements must not be neglected during proper skiing. Rotational movements can be made, for example, by turning the foot, turning or rotating the whole body. For the start of the season you should concentrate on walking and walking. This takes place immediately after the upward movement (displacement KSP upwards).

7. HANDS WITH PROPER SKIING FORWARD

Often the hands and ski poles are treated somewhat neglected. They have lost their campsite and are partly held behind the pool. Give your ski poles back to the sun during skiing. So hands ahead! A stick position about 10 cm in front of the hip bones is optimal for the swing release and the original. The poles are oriented diagonally backwards.

8. PRESS AGAINST THE SKI BOOT

To start the new turn, it is also important to push the shin against the boot. As a result, skiing and bouncing are easier and more pressure is applied to the ski. If it works, it’s a Wow feeling! Just imagine you have a two euro piece between your shinbone and the ski boot that you do not want to lose at all.
